Our stay in London – 11 months to go! 22.8.16

Last Christmas we were very spoilt and received two vouchers from our lovely families for experiences in London so we waited until the summer to use them both together. We had a few celebrations around that time too so decided to book a nice hotel and make the most of it and Malmaison London did not disappoint!

The hotel is super stylish, quirky and modern and it’s in a great location, Barbican tube station is literally just round the corner! It also felt really quiet for London, perfect for a good nights sleep after a busy day exploring!

We decided to visit Camden Market as our first stop of the day, we love the hustle and bustle there and you can pick up some great, unique things. Kerb Camden had just opened up and the food choice was insane!  We bought a mac and cheese to share and sat by the Lock in the sunshine, so lovely!

We also found the coloured houses near Camden and I couldn’t resist snapping them just a few times…

After a wander through London and a quick pit stop at the hotel to change it was on to London Steakhouse, the first of our lovely gifts. We enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal and cocktails and had a fab evening. I didn’t take many pictures there, sign of enjoying the meal I think!

The following day we had a little time to visit some shops before heading for our afternoon tea. We basically just ate the whole time we were in London!!

A visit to Fortnum and Mason and a beautiful flower ice-cream from Amorino!

We then enjoyed a champagne chocoholics afternoon tea at the Hilton, Park Lane, it was INCREDIBLE! Anyone who knows me will know I love afternoon teas, I think we’re pretty set on having it on our wedding day too (most likely having a BBQ in the evening so Ben can have his favourite too…)

The afternoon tea started with a yummy platter of open sandwiches and then this delicious cake stand full of goodies! There were chocolate chip scones that came with chocolate sauce and a huge variety of chocolate fancies. The top tier of cakes were served on an edible chocolate slab, so good!!

We are so lucky to live an hours train ride away and try to go to London often to do different things.

August was a crazy amazing month for us, I found out that I graduated from university with a First Honours Degree, I ordered my wedding dress and we finally got round to sending our ‘save the dates’ (I’ll get round to blogging those soon I’m sure).

Thanks so much for reading, 11 months to go!!! ❤
